That's a beautiful rifle. Very apocalyptic. Amazing lettering...I can just imagine the light from my kerosene lantern gently dancing across it after you kick in my door to kill me and steal my last can of beans. My grandchildren will tell their grandchildren...he was killed by Daisy, the man they called the "Possum King."

Man, I’d imagined the myth around this gun to be more of a “Pretty Boy Floyd” Woody Guthrie ballad about ensuring fairness and justice in the land (as well as keeping possums out of MT). But, I really like your Cormac McCarthy novel-style apocalypse insurance idea.

What kind of beans are we talking though? Some types are worth killing over more than others.

That is probably not a stamp. The letters and numbers were probably carved by skilled elves with a great work ethic. That’s the real problem here, elves just don’t care as much about their barrel markings these days.
