The poor pup died about 9 months later. Vet did his best but couldn’t get all of the quills. I’m guessing they migrated.

Huck pointed two covies of Huns on our walk back to the truck. Killed two doubles over him. I raced him to the birds so he didn’t try to pick up with a mouth full of quills. I had worked on him for a half hour before we left. He wouldn’t let me pull anymore quills.
 
Once a dog figures out what pliers are used for its game over.
I would clip the quills first, its releases the pressure within making them easier to pull.
That said..." easier" doesnt mean much.
My 100 lb Malamute from years ago would not be wrestled.

I pulled 4 or 5 quilts out of my dogs nasal cavity and snout MONTHS after the incident.

They would just randomly surface and I would slowly pull the out with my leatherman.

Porcupine encounters with dogs are simply terrible. I hate those little bastards.

Pulled a dozen or so out of the soft nose tissue of one of our horses a few years ago. Amazingly, she just stood there and let us do it.
 
Those artisans at the Greycliff Mill have built many really cool structures at that complex, many of them commercially functional. The timber frame structures are impressive.
The historic old millstone is worth stopping to see.
The restaurant is a great place to stop for their perfect milkshake, a muffin, coffee, sandwich or a full meal.
I like to sit outside and watch the trout in their stream and pond.

400$ for the night , just filled the yeti cooler full of meats and cheeses and snacks, spent time on the upper balcony and then spent a couple hours in the hot tub once it got close to dark and it was a lot of fun, what’s not in the picture there’s a little nook that has a microwave and a sink and a little mini fridge , then has a door that goes to a bathroom and a big shower upstairs. It’s pretty cool. The downstairs has a bathroom also but we never spent time downstairs. It was nice just sitting upstairs at that bedroom window looking out over everything when we weren’t outside


They have three silo and three cabins I rented at the nicest of the three silos each one’s a little different,
