RIP Pickup Man!
I was fortunate enough to meet him when he did a show at Michigan State when I was in school. I was a runner for the campus venue and had to pick up Joe from the golf course and get him over to Breslin. Joked that I wished I'd had a pick-up instead of a campus van. Totally cool, down to earth, talked to you like he knew you his whole life, and left a great impression on a 20-21 year old kid. He put on a great show and it was a fun night. Not a bad way to make a little side money- that job was awesome. Loved his music and he will be missed greatly. This entire Covid thing sucks.
