Nice Surprise

Walked into the house to finish off the evening after my doctoral defense with a couple beers and found this on my kitchen counter...



Apparently one of my buddies wanted to surprise me with a painting to celebrate my defense. It's a fish from one of the most memorable days of fishing I've had during our annual fall brownie trip, which just so happen to be on the stream I caught my first fish on the fly during a family trip back in the 90s.




Between finally popping the last bottle of now vintage huckleberry mead that I bottled when I started my doctorate in 2008 and this painting, it was a pretty spectacular night.
