Took this photo yesterday of my son and his best friend. They are super-pumped to hunt this fall.. at 11 years old. Free sportsmans/waterfowl licenses too.. nice!

You should be pumped. Now the elk, deer, and antelope are probably not real happy to see another Greenhorn out in the field. Congrats to those two young men.

Do they have to wait till fall or are the spring bears in trouble?Looking forward to pics coming this fall.

Congrats Greenhorn on a new, probably your favorite hunting partner!

Congrats to your kid. I'm sure he is ready to go.

That's awesome. Make it a fun and not too stressful season for the lad and you'll have a hunting partner for life. The key is stay patient. They aren't quick on the draw or attentive as a seasoned hunter so teaching with patience is key. You'll realize all this in a hurry. I'm assuming spring bear is first on the list. Good luck

I love to see this. Living in on the edge of suburbia it seems like young poeple are more interested in video games than enjoying the outdoors. I can't wait for the day my kids are posing for that same picture.

I think he can only hunt spring bear if he turns 12 by the end of the bear season. I was in this same boat with my daughter last year and she couldnt hunt the spring critters. She turned 12 in august.

Congrats! It is always great when kids want to get into hunting. Hunting is a such a great family sport, I hunt with my father and son and have hunted with a lot of other family members. Great times are ahead for you.
