Took the wife and kids up to the Sierras this week to enjoy Thanksgiving.......do a bit of predator calling......and most of all photograph some Golden State mule deer. Here's a few photos of some bucks.....nothing like the Strip or Henries, but decent bucks for these parts. Hope you enjoy:

Some medium bucks:

Here's one of the best typical bucks I've seen in these parts in a while:

Whoa, those are some great bucks. Is this as far north as Bridgeport? Further north?

Looks like its off 395. I had a cow tag a couple years ago in November and they were just starting to move down (no snow yet). Too bad we'll die of old age before we can draw a late season tag. Enjoyed the pictures.

Actually further South Randy.....between Lone Pine and Bishop along the Eastern front. I drew this tag and hunted it with my bow three years ago.....there was no snow at even 12,000' that year. It's amazing what snow accumulation in the high country can produce. I literally saw hundreds of bucks.....some stud's that I could only peer at through my Swarovski spotting scope.

I'd probably shoot that crazy 3-point. Cool deer. The big one is NICE.

I really like the buck in the second picture...

Thanks for the pics.
