Hunting season preparations, what did you do today?

Going fishing then getting home and packing and checking what I forgot to pack and making sure I have everything. Probably done that routine a dozen times now. I always forget something. Hopefully not anything critical.

Another hike up the mountain with the mutt. Shaved 2 minutes off. 20 arrows. Started 30 second then increasing holds (thanks Remi Warren). Did some more ID e-scouting. Now working in the sun all day (92 degrees).

5 mile run between Zoom calls, ride the bike into the office to keep the lab running, walk/run/hike with the kiddos and look for deer. Rinse and repeat.

Need to find more range time for my elk load.

I cooked up about five pounds of wings on the Traeger, ate half of them along with a pile of homemade fries, and washed it down with this.

I did 5000 ft of vertical between yesterday and today. Climbed the final two 10k peaks in the Tobacco Roots( 43 total).
Now I'm drinking beer like JLS.

I haven’t done much in the way of hunting prep the last 2 days. My job has kept me pretty occupied from dark to dark both days. Toss in the continuing 108 heat indices and hasn’t been much left in the tank. My farmers tan is coming right along though.

Flung 40 arrows ! For the 3rd time in 4 days , and power hiked to the top of a ridge yesterday, went light but just pushed it as fast as possible to the top , was sucking wind but it felt good , and like always had a beer with dad after my archery session , tonight was the breaker IPA 9% it a costal brewery , local
