The waiting is killing me!

1. First question, when do you predict the results will be released?

2. What was your strategy this year in Colorado? Burning points before the change in 2028 or saving points and looking forward to the random draw?

3. Share your recent Colorado success stories!

I burned my elk points for a muzzy hunt and connected on a very tasty raghorn. I’m a terrible trophy hunter and put more priority on the adventure and meat.

I got an email today for my Landowner Preference Program Application reminding me to make sure my payment method on file is up to date and that it was important to have that done before any charges would take place from May 27th to 29th.

I burned all my points as soon as it was proposed. The unit/hunt I chose has increased .5pp each draw since. Same unit and rifle hunts increased 1pp each draw. While it’s not much more to draw these hunts, the previous creep was ~.25pp/year and ~.33pp/year before the 2028 plan was adopted.

Plan to use eight points for elk next year in Colorado. I will keep building deer and antelope points there for a few more years. I have points in enough other states that should keep me busy for awhile.

You do know all your point values will be cut in half in 2028, right? I did not draw deer but already have a lock unit for a plan B 4th season next year. Good enough, and already hunted there 4th season previously. So no scouting necessary.
