Waiting for 2025 Colorado draw results

pretty interesting but nothing i didn't expect... in hindsight im glad i didn't draw the tag I applied for but the unit i applied for someone used 21 points for a muzzy tag and you could draw the archery tag with zero points. this unit not too long ago was all OTC. crazy. Im really debating on what to do in the future with my time/money. wondering if my money and time invested would be better off in a different state or possibly even a reservation hunt or something else.

The summary page includes applicants that applied for a preference point first choice.
Does it only show applicants who put in for a preference point first choice? If someone put in for a different tag as first choice, would they show up?

The first page of each draw recap shows all applicants, both those who applied for a PP first choice and those who applied for a hunt code first choice. The last page of each draw recap shows the applicants that applied for a PP first choice.

I'm following now. I was hoping they had some granularity regarding how people put in for a specific hunt code as opposed to applications as a whole. You might be able to help me with another irregularity I've been noticing. I pulled a random example but this isn't the only place I've seen it but for EF080O1M in last years draw, it seems like two resident hunters who should have received a tag with 1 point did not get one. You have any idea what's going on there? They seem to only be showing people who put in for the tag as their first choice

Thats a good question, I'd be interested in the answer too.

I'd also like to know more about the person who applied with 10 points!

These are nearly all cases of people applying in a group with someone with fewer points. Group applications are considered at the lowest point level in the group.

As Oak said. Applied with 1 point with a buddy who had 0 points. Buddy with 0 points did not draw, therefore, applicant with one point would not receive the tag either.

No cow moose in my group and looks like point creep got us for our 3rd season buck tags. Onto plan B or C…
Well, didn’t see this coming….dad got an email from CPW yesterday morning stating the one nonresident that drew the cow moose tag he applied for, returned it and he was the alternate! He accepted the tag this morning and we’ll be looking forward to the experience in North Park.

Looks like people are dumping points, some easier to draw units had people using 10+ points when 1 or 2 was all that was needed. Maybe they didn't know, or maybe they are going to be done accumulating points.

Wouldn't think much of it, see that every year. Allegedly sometimes people return their tags, take the points back, and then hope their kid draws it in the second draw.

That would be a risky gamble, but hey, to each their own!

Looks like they really did not limit the nonresident otc archery tags they just made so they had to go to a pacific unit.Wonder if they will in the future, because I have seen before when they limited a unit the first year they gave tags to every body than the second year they limited it. Just wondered what you guys were thinking.

The unit I applied for also jumped nearly two points since last year. Currently sitting on seven elk points now.

Yup. The unit my Dad a NR applied for jumped over 2 points. Being 74 might be time to look at something different than what he has been chasing

Im confused about the "secondary draw." Will they post a list of leftover licenses or do you just apply blindly using the same hunt codes as the primary draw?
