Trying to get my kid a leftover antelope tag and possibly my dad an elk or deer tag. How do I even know if they are available?

Secondary Draw list will publish on June 18, I was told by CPW staff. Applications open online the next day. App deadline is June 30.

I've seen you on here, pretty sure you help plenty of NZ hunt dreamers!
I love helping, it's part of why I'm on this forum, but i really didn't like having 2 of my hunt areas posted on the public forum this year
I would love to know the percentage of adults that draw in the secondary when the remaining tag quota is under 30.
My guess is that its less than 1 percent.

Adults drew 99% of those tags and turned them in with next to 0 consequences...People should focus on that, not on the fact that kids get a chance to draw those tags.
Everyone should relax....The secondary, Leftover, and Re-issue list's list will be a ghost town in 2028.....The adults will then have a high probability of beating those those nasty little kids to the good tags!
I wonder what will be griped about in 2028. lol

well I gave them the $11 to at least try for a cow elk tag in the unit my brother and I drew deer tags in. Worth a shot.
I agree for cow and doe tags. I can remember someone posting on here years ago that they went back and looked at every single buck tag offered in the Secondary Draw one year and not one was drawn by an adult.

2028 will also be the first year my son will be old enough to apply
. Was really hoping to snag him a tag off the secondary I guess will see. Dudes who complain about kids getting preference in the secondary be like.

Sent my $11 in since there were a handful of deer tags in my elk unit available. Last year, more than 1/2 went to kids, but that left several remaining for the big kids. Maybe I’ll get lucky!

Just curious if you have your bear already picked out, given it’s a private land tag. Or do you just have a buddy with a bear problem?
