Nice! I would be worried about screwing up the moisture and meat temp, looks like you did it perfectly!
 
Very nice. I've been wanting to do this but the backstraps on our deer around here are pretty small. If I continue my streak of killing the week of thanksgiving, I may try it regardless this year. Only without the morels since I've never found one :(
