Criticizing Netanyahu being blanket-labeled as anti-Semitism is bullshit, and is happening way too much. But blanket-associated all Jews with Rabbinic Judaism is also bullshit. Bibi is a bad actor and pretty clearly considering his own power over the well-being of the Israeli people, but he's a secular Jew and using the Talmud to say the US shouldn't support him rather than the other actually legitimate reasons isn't helpful.

Maybe I misinterpreted your post. The Christian support for Israel has never been about a shared faith, it's about the Jews being God's chosen people in the Bible. But I'm in agreement that the Christian Zionism is ridiculous; even if you hold to the mainstream evangelical idea of protecting the Jewish people, supporting a Netanyahu government that consistently takes actions raising the danger-level for those people makes no sense.

Really one of the most preposterous things is the idea that it's a left and right issue. When i voted for Trump it was for a candidate that insisted the thousands killed and the trillions spent to replace al qaeda with al qaeda and other middle east regime changes was an idiotic mistake to be avoided. IF it weren't for blind party loyalty and tribal identity, there would be less than 20% of the American public that supported attacking Iran.

There can be a distinction drawn between, Jews, Israel, and any Israeli government.

Netanyahu, imo, has been a bad actor for the entirety of his time in power. I will give him credit for being very talented at remaining in power. The long standing policy of allowing settlements in the west bank, has made any two state solution impossible. Certainly, Palestinian leadership has a good share of the blame, but Israel's government is far from blameless.

Kind of related but maybe not, there has been a lot of talk about the Epstein files. Congress just voted on a resolution to release names from the Congressional sexual harassment slush fund. the resolution was put forth by Burchett TN, Boebert CO and Mace SC. It was voted down and sent to the Ethics committee. Take a look at the roll a yes vote sent it to the Ethic committee for congress to investigate itself and no vote would have released. Some very vocal people on both sides screaming and yelling about Epstein that just hid their own dirty laundry, mind you the slush fund is paid by our tax dollars.
