Time to upgrade pickup?

I bought a brand new 23 f-150. Put 40k down and got 0% interest on the rest. 60 months of all maintenance and oil changes paid. I love it. Dont have to worry about paying a penny for 5 years. Truck rides a lot better than the 19 ram diesel I had ( which was always in the shop).
40k was a down payment, let's let that sink in for a minute

I get it, its a lot. I paid 43k for my 19 ram diesel brand new. But, Its nice to not have to worry about anything. I think of it as an asset. If I keep it for 5 years and can still get 30-40k out of it, its worth it to me.

Doesn't it make you sick to see the final cost? I've been doing the same, sweet jesus, hate spending that much on a horrible financial decision
It’s crazy how much more everything costs now; oddly enough the Tacomas seem less affected.

I’ve been looking at used trucks particularly 1st gen Tundras and prices just don’t make sense.

“such as how fast they drive, where they drive, and even the music they listen to.”

Shockingly no. Don’t care. I’m a Swiftie and proud of it. 😂
If it were just that, I can sorta understand. But you have to be a bit concerned when your personal calendar details, email and messaging contents, sexual preferences, medical discussions, purchase histories, and other details are being shared by your vehicle. And shockingly they sometimes are.

My roulette wheel mind has been on a truck upgrade for the last 6 months. Currently have a 2016 RAM 1500 with 95k miles that has zero issues. Problem for me is I've settled on wanting a new chevy 2500 diesel. Basic custom or LT models are near $67k on the low end. I hyperventilate at the thought. But, having just retired, I want this vehicle to be a 20 year vehicle and be able to tow triple with a camper/boat combo. For now, I'm waiting for a better interest rate or incentive.

I might bite if prices soften up more. The 2019 Ram 2500 crew cab gasser long bed with the 8 speed trans has had my eye for a while. It'll pull anything I need it to and my experience with Ram trucks is very positive as well.

Don't accept anything with onboard 5G or a "connected driving experience" or you'll never really own the truck. By pushing over the air updates without your knowledge or acceptance, the manufacturer can change the configuration, features, or characteristics of your vehicle at will. Some of these changes can be surprising or even dangerous.

If the vehicle you desire does have a mandatory connection, insist on an opt out for data collection and sharing. You'd be amazed and alarmed at the type and amount of information modern cars are steali... er, sharing.
Just pull the fuze out of the on-board modem...thats what I did with my 21 F250.

OP you got another 100k before you need worry about replacement.

Fellas, I'm looking for some advice on potentially upgrading my pickup. I've got a 2013 Tundra with 153k miles on it. The pickup has been completely reliable the entire time I've owned it.

I've been trying to hold off the desire to trade it in or sell it outright but the wandering mind hasn't gone away. I've been looking at the 21-22ish Tundras as well as the Titans. If I had to pick right now I would probably go with the Titan.

What are your thoughts?
I'm a guy that just wants a sub $25k/70k mile truck that isn't rusted or 15 years old...sigh

My wife knows my sexual preference, my insurance company knows my medical history (and they probably want me dead), my calendar is boring while my text messages are often hilarious. If they can find someone dumb enough to buy that info, go for it. Maybe I can get a free oil change or something?

I’m from a generation that was obsessed with getting rid of commercials. We invented the VCR and never watched anything live so we could fast forward through the commercials. Now millennials are trying to save a buck by getting ads in their viewing. WTF! We are going backwards. I dont like being sold to and anyone buying that data won’t get a single cent from me unless it is something I need, and I don’t need much. And Im not much afraid of the government because I try to stay pretty clean on my taxes. Sounds like I’m a bit of an anomaly?
