Looks like the remains of tree limb parts from inside the trunk. Find them all the time as drift wood in the river, usually full of turpentine which is why they are dense.
Yep. Bark pockets. Super dense. Often fatwood.

Dang. Glad you were home. I've seen stuff like that get ugly. mtmuleyHot water line slab leak wake up...it's been an adrenalin fueled Sunday. Lucky I caught it quickly and even more fortunate to have a good plumber who'll get out of bed @dark thirtyAM on a Sunday.
Yes sir, think I caught it a couple hours old...wet vac'd over 20 gallons, carpet cleaners should be able to mitigate the rest. PEX crew coming in the morning.Dang. Glad you were home. I've seen stuff like that get ugly. mtmuley
At least it wasn't cuz you did something dumb. I have an IKEA vanity in the laundry which has very rtardrd plumbing to accommodate a shelf underneath. Plugs up annually.Yes sir, think I caught it a couple hours old...wet vac'd over 20 gallons, carpet cleaners should be able to mitigate the rest. PEX crew coming in the morning.

In taking the drain apart for cleaning I broke the strainer. This on a Sunday night. Last project of the day. Bonehead turned the water off but didnt remember to reconnect the waterline for the softener which drains in to the same trap. Bonehead had also hit the recharge button on the softener to recharge that night.
Bonehead shuffled in to the laundry next morning and got his feet wet.
Bonehead.
Well, fortunately my mess is resolved with very little consequences. The only hidden consequence is mold developing between the subfloor and tile mortar. But with the crawlspace technically conditioned space I think it will be OK.My bonehead catastrophes usually occur in triad Hem.
How many holes in the wall?Weekends have been miserable weather wise lately. We've resorted to shooting in the basement to cure the cabin fever.View attachment 403955View attachment 403956View attachment 403957View attachment 403958
