Songs about Montana

When I think of Montana music none other than Rob Quist stands out!

I wish he had some quality samples on youtube to share though pretty hard to find.

Love his stories told through his music - His family is a fantastic addition. A genuine Montana 3rd generation musician.

A FANTASTIC project for at risk teens. Bridge to peace

This one holds an intro to Lewis and Clark. Once the commentary completes he rolls into his smooth sounding music. Hit 2:30 if you wish to get right to the music.

Check out David Walburn. He plays at Many Glacier Lodge in Glacier during the summer. He has a whole CD with songs about or relating to living in Montana called Montana Life Under the Big Sky. Also has one I believe is called Cabin Fever about his time building and living in a remote cabin in Alaska.

A couple of my favorites...

"Wild Montana Skies"

I built a geodesic dome house in 1980 for a chiropractor from Denver Colorado. He was John Denver's back quack, and herbal medicine guy. John came out here a few times and really liked the place, even mingled with the locals a few times that I recalled. I think that he must of been influenced by the place here. He wrote "Wild Montana Skies" shortly thereafter.

One of my favorites is Big City by Merle Haggard.

Redheaded Stranger is a good one too!
