German Mauser DSM 34 single shot .22 trainer patterned after the Model 98 Mauser so trainees would be familiar with the look and feel of the real one when they became soldiers. Ben what year did you buy the Ballard? There's a good chance I did most of the metal work on that thing. It was a lot of fun building those things.

Dad bought it in 2007 at the factory, IIRC.

As for the lamp shade, it's kinda like that old beat up 22 in the back of the closet, you could fix it, but then it would be ruined.
