A couple of weeks ago I stopped into my local dealer to start some paperwork on a transfer on a new rifle that I bought on the internet. My wife was with me and out of the blue she said, I want to get a pistol I can shoot what do you think I should get.
Well, I have a Kimber 1911 we could get a .22 conversion and walk home with it today. Or you could get 9mm in glock or something similar.
I want something I can shoot a lot and something the little man can shoot when he gets older.
Okay, a .22 on a smaller platform would be a good idea then.
Out comes this Walther, a little aiming at the wall in the shop, and then she starts the paperwork.

Filling out the paperwork she looks up into the rack and sees this Benelli 686U.

Is that a good shotgun for me?
Well, it’s a 12ga break action so it will be like the Weatherby pump you didn’t like. It doesn't have a gas or inertia action which tames the recoil.
Okay, but it is beautiful, look at this wood compared to the other one (they had a two on the shelf) you want an over under right? Yes. I think you should get it, but I’m going to buy it for you.
Okay.

I took it to the range last night for some aromatherapy on electronic trap, shot above my average right out of the gate including going 10/10 on the first two stations then I came back to reality as I’ve never shot perfect two stations in a row. Needless to say, I’m very happy with the gun and even happier with the wife.
