Satellite pictures of BP oil gusher.

Someone with experience correct me if need be. I'm just passing on what I've heard. After speaking with some oil guys, they all knew the heavy mud thing wouldn't work. They said the only way to stop this thing is to light it up and blow it. They were saying the "greenies" won't let this happen, because it will kill some fish. So who's really in charge of fixing this problem?

Someone with some knowledge, PLEASE step in here and explain this to me.....hell, to the whole country.

The problem with putting a charge on it and collapsing the well is the possibility of making a worse mess. If it doesn't collapse correctly then you have multiple areas that need to be plugged. It is an option but more of a last resort from what I understand.

Seems as if the companies involved are busier pointing the finger at each other instaed of taking care of the task at hand.

And people think capitalism is the key! Bah. I am all for the American Economic's setup we have - oversight less a socialist agenda... unfortunately - to some extent - health care on such level goes the other direction either way seems we slant to either direction... push hard one way, the pendulum WILL swing the other...

Great site ....thanks for posting that....

I've been looking for days for information that "debunks" the BS statement that this is "no big deal because natural seeps occur in the Gulf that exceed this spill already"......

Definately a site to keep an eye on as this problem evolves...

As this monster is destroying the Marshes and because I can't stand when "Company Men" will not listen to people who know more. I think what has happened is a Company Man let the Dollar tell him what to do. I have been recieving Updates every 5-10 minutes from BP after sending in a suggestion for capping this mess. But it has become apparent that if the solution does not come from a BP man the Idea will not be considered. I guess it's so they can stand at the mike and sau "We stopped it".
As for Washington sitting on their ass and not allowing the Barrier Islands to be protected as they should, that is on them. BP should never been allowed to dictate how the mess should have been handled. As for the Hay Idea, that was out there a long time before the video. My suggestion was to ring the Islands with wood chips and Bombing the Slicks with the wood chips to keep the oil together. When the oil soaked chips can be collected, they can be burned in a coal based electric plant.
Now that they have a Cap in place, kill the well with a mixture of Metal Media and a mixture of welding media. Send a Pipeline Pig with and electrical cable ahead of the media mixture, when you start to see a decrease in pressure, electrify the media and weld the media to the pipe causing a Bridge Plug. If one hole is putting out that much oil by all means they better start sinking a bunch more....of course not the ones that waste the oil but puts in into my gas tank.
