Wow, you figured that one out pretty quick.

Congrats TLC. Nice bear, with a bow, to add even more intrigue.

Great job and thanks for the pics.I may need to get me a thermacell sometime.

well Fin, waited for a call from either you or your brother for some help. but alas, it never came. guess I should have sent my number, EH? damn norwegians got me all screwed up. big blondes, big ......uummm, never mind.

Buschy, always take the first available good shot I get. never know if you will get that second one.:D

dh, any burn is easy. gather small kindling, dry pine needles are best. then find some small dry limbs. get the fire going, then cover green pine branches with honey, or grease, or whatever, and they will smoke like all get out. when they go out, get/be ready for the fun to happen. do not make them big. you can see the size pan I used in the pics, I think. if not, will post the pic for you. small $5 grill will work. and keeps the heat away from the ground.

mtmiller, should have done this sooner, but busy getting the bear taken care of for the trip home. what part of minnesota you going too? and what you going to be hunting?

thanks guys. hope you enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed the hunt. will post the pic of the final mount in a year or so. full body I think.

Looks like you did way better that you would have, if you had taken any advice from us. We would have just sent you to the local tavern, where Vikings fans would be obnoxiously drunk and 'rassed you about "da Bears (football that is)."

Hope you had fun. Looks like you did.

Yeah, send your number, if you ever want me to lead you astray. Pretty good at that. Most guys only ask me for input once. That is usually enough.

I was hunting two-legged deer in Minneapolis and later north of Duluth on Superior.;)

well, the taxidermist called and said we have final a final mount. here's the pictures he sent.

looks like the guy did a good job. can't complain too much for the price. $1250 for the mount, bleaching the skull, and the base complete with decorations.

see below for the pics. easier to do it that way.
