This is the part of the trip when the marathon turns into a sprint gonna be a long night getting everything ready to cargo out and leave tomorrow be home in time on Monday to have lunch with my wife. Had to take a minute and make some dinner

WOW!! what an adventure

Grind is coming to an end. We just dropped off all the cargo now sitting out on a runway waiting for a plane to take us out of the village. The tail end of this trip usually gets wild and two days almost isn’t enough time. I should be home Monday for lunch with the wife and kids. Meat is all in a freezer and will start making its way to Billings on Tuesday. This last part always has me a little worried hopefully it goes smoothly

My bull turned into quite the rodeo. I hammered him at about 90 yards with my muzzy then he stepped into the brush. I reloaded the gun and went in after him. He went about 30 yards and had bedded down I could hear him wheezing so I knew it was a done deal but I wanted a second slug into him. I got about 10 yards from him and he stood up my jaw dropped when I seen how big he actually was. Raised the gun and the cap popped and it didn’t fire. I recapped and it two more times and it still wouldn’t fire the bull wandered off about 40 yards and bedded down again. One of the guys gave his 10mm and I slid into about 10’ from that bull when he stood up I basically hit him with what I’d considered a mag dump. He didn’t stay on his feet to long after that. This is how he ended up laying. I’m not a pistol guy so in all the excitement I may have also shot him in the paddle. We didn’t bring and tape measures with us so no idea how big he actually is but it doesn’t really matter to me. The littlest one we did measure with a trekking pole and he is right at 55”

Well it sounds like someone ran a fork thru one of my bags so air cargo refused to take it. Ended up spending some extra money to have someone rebox all our meat. Everything is sitting in freezers in anchorage and should probably start making its way towards us on Monday. Alaska is a lot of logistical problems and this is just part of doing it DIY end of the day if all our stuff shows up next week froze and cost a couple hundred extra bucks a piece not really a big deal. Anyone doing a trip like this I can’t say enough good things about Tgi cargo and Todd for a middle man to move your stuff around they are truly phenomenal

2 mail days left for my locking tag to show up. Cutting it close this year gonna be a new record. I find it irritating that the website says 10 business days and when you call Alaska they say it’s up to a month I ordered it on Aug 4th and I haven’t got it. I know a guy that ordered his on the 14th and already has it in hand. Montana issues me a real id in less time

I'm headed to AK on Friday for my moose hunt. I ordered my locking tag mid July. Didn't show up, called, voided and reordered on 8/18....original voided tag showed up in the mail that day...
Second one arrived this morning, just in time!
