If a guy wanted to retire in Wyoming what towns should he look at?

We should ask you, what do you want in town or near? People, no people, lots people. Traffic, shopping, food...

Especially in WY that can make a huge difference

I’d say it depends. Wyoming retirement taxation is currently very favorable to those who have a lot to shield from taxation and a short time till their check out date. On the other hand, you got Florida or Arizona which tax more, though you’ll almost always have some sun. Retirees have gone to those two states for so long now that entire cities have come up out of a planned retirement community.

Now if you two plan on having considerable assets to shield from taxation, but you could realistically see decades of retirement, there’s the Caribbean. Some of those island countries offer no personal income tax and no wealth tax. They have citizenship through investment programs. Upfront expense, sure, but at least you’re not stuck spending 30 years where it’s cold as tits eight months of the year telling yourselves it was a good idea.

Ranchester/Dayton area just outside Sheridan would be my go to. But the more me and the wife think about it I doubt my southern butt is retiring in Wyoming. I already don't like the cold and doubt I'll grow fond in my old age.
This is where I want to retire. Its absolutely beautiful up there. Feels like a different state than Cheyenne.

Gotta be near an ER when that hip shatters! And it seems Denver is the nearest place to fix all that stuff ultimately.
