I didn't buy a prc either, but I know the hype is mostly BS as a friend did and he's not seeing the advertised 300 FPS gain with the peak ammo.300 fps - and i wouldnt know, didnt buy a prc![]()
Can we at least agree the world’s flat?Easy to see who follows influencers and who doesn't.
Just what I need more reloading crap, more dies, etc. all for 100 FPS gain? For about 99% of my shooting on big-game, there is no difference, for the other 1 percent, an extra mil/moa click on the scope.
Not buying into the hype.
Can we at least agree that P.T. Barnum was right? Can we at least agree the world’s flat?
Hands down the most “trendy” round in the last decade at least in the circles I run in. Sometimes it feels good to be an incompetent/factory rounds/7 rem mag guy. The 30+ antelope/deer/elk that guns killed didn’t seem to care much about headstamp.300 fps - and i wouldnt know, didnt buy a prc![]()
Nothing wrong with any of them, old or new, every innovation is small when the market is this mature.Hands down the most “trendy” round in the last decade at least in the circles I run in. Nice to see some new technology can trip triggers. Usually a good indicator something’s there. It’s Friday, time to hunt.
It's never not absolutely hilarious to watch the easily influenced gripe about the price of NR tags, then buy every single piece of dogshit that they think is "innovation". Usually that "innovation" is used to kill a critter they could shoot 99% of the time with grandads '06 and weaver K4.Nothing wrong with any of them, old or new, every innovation is small when the market is this mature.
New tech always triggers simpletons.
There's some real satisfaction in realizing you haven't fallen off a turnip truck recently, while watching others jump like lemmings off a cliff in a single file line..It's never not absolutely hilarious to watch the easily influenced gripe about the price of NR tags, then buy every single piece of dogshit that they think is "innovation". I'll keep spending my money on NR tags, and actually hunting.
It wasn't that long ago that smokeless powder became the norm. I bet there were naysayers back then when the pressures jumped from 20,000 psi for the old black powder rifles to 50,000 psi in smokeless powder rifles just prior to ww1.Nothing wrong with any of them, old or new, every innovation is small when the market is this mature.

Yes. Basically everything falls in that category.Usually that "innovation" is used to kill a critter they could shoot 99% of the time with grandads '06 and weaver K4.
LOL and there it is folks…I took some of Federals higher ups on a fishing trip this past year. They shared a lot of info about the new technology and their plans with it. Pretty cool to talk with the people in charge of these innovations. Big plans for the near future!
Sometimes yes and it works just fine.Yes. Basically everything falls in that category.
You still using grandads '06 and a weaver k4?
There what is?LOL and there it is folks…

I’ve spent some time with their engineering team as well. Worked on several projects with them. Their director of engineering (for like 30 years) took my wife and I on a south fork drift boat steelhead trip then up the snake in his jet boat on what I’d consider an experience of a lifetime. Her reeling in a 7ft sturgeon and they even let her drive the boat for a while. Hunting fools. So yeah, unashamed about my bias.It wasn't that long ago that smokeless powder became the norm. All of this started in 2018 when the Army requested rounds capable of exceeding what was currently achievable through brass alone. Rest assured to those scared of more pressure, Federal has done their homework... The Army signed an agreement to purchase 40 million rounds of 6.5 creedmoor plus peak for using in their existing rifles.
