From Bird hunters?
Im aware of things things.NR Bird hunters are the principal funder of the upland game bird program: https://archive.legmt.gov/bills/mca...rt_0020/section_0460/0870-0010-0020-0460.html
Last session, the legislature did many things relative to upland bird hunting that should start to bear fruit next season:
1.) Resident priority for prairie grouse and pheasant (10 days)
2.) Increased tools for regulating dog trainers
3.) Increased the NR Upland license to be one of the most expensive in the west, if not the most expensive.
I'd be curious to see the numbers in January of how many upland licenses were sold to NR between the 3 day and the season. That area has seen significant growth over the last decade.
Im aware of things things.
Did anyone ever try to establish a cap? Perhaps if someone had years ago this wouldnt have happened.
From Bird hunters?
Oh - i was just thinking of where the demand came from, who was filling up the bma books/properties, and what caused a lot of expense relative to cost to public resource (NR bird hunters).Where did I say that?
If I could suggest a title…”How do we make NRs pay for everything but not allow them in the state?”Start a thread. Good idea.
If I could suggest a title…”How do we make NRs pay for everything but not allow them in the state?”
No doubt. Ive helped several.I know a shitload of nonresident hunters I’d prefer to see here hunting than an even greater amount of douchbag residents, just saying.
Pavolvian tree carp esque responseIf I could suggest a title…”How do we make NRs pay for everything but not allow them in the state?”
Where is that established? I dont see that. There is a cap of 12K NR Upland licensees that does not get met, IIRC.
They are capped ya.BMA payments are still capped, no? It might not be as big an issue as one might think.
I’m sure they are. Some of the bma landowners around here would make a million dollars a year off the program if payments weren’t capped and based on sign in’s with the amount they’re used. LolBMA payments are still capped, no? It might not be as big an issue as one might think.
If the BMA payments are capped, and the only payout difference is how quickly the BMA hits its cap, then there will be some BMAs where it’s completely irrelevant how many hunters were bird hunters and how many were deer hunters. They are capped ya.
Unlike bird hunters.
