This is barely related, but I followed a whitetail buck track for almost 14 miles around whitefish point a few years ago and I never caught up to that deer. Snow was less than a day old. I found his running tracks after 11.5 miles, but never once saw him. I think I crossed more fisher tracks than deer tracks that day (other than the buck I was following). I have no issue mentioning it by name online because anyone foolish enough to try hunting there like me is in for a hell of an experience. I've never hunted anywhere with lower deer density. Took me a couple of days to even find a track to follow, let alone a buck track

My relatives on my mom's side of the family were heavily involved in the MN iron range mining. I have always felt a connection to the song even though I was born in 1988. My mom saw Gordon Lightfoot live in Minneapolis in 1979.
