What does Brown Bear taste like? John

Last weekend I had some backstrap cooked on the grill and it was pretty good, kind of like greasy beef. It was a friend of a friends bear shot a couple days before, not a 10 footer but a nice 9 footer anyway. Some of the pieces were medium rare so I avoided them because of the whole trichenosis thing.

Nice bear Jake.

TB, Thanks, I was serious about the taste. Always wondered and people talk about Black Bear meat, but I don't know if I have heard anyone talk about Brown Bear meat. John

thanks guys, ya nice when they die dry!!
didn't eat this one, he smelled like fish oil straight outa the jar, wasn't really in the mood for him, last one didn't smell of fish at all...grizzly in the fall is good, very sweet when they've been on the berries, tough though and stringy.

Looks like a very nice coat on that one.Got any more hunters in this year?
