2025 Wyoming Pronghorn Hunt

Hopefully going to be a short hunt. Some of you guys jinxed me with your vehicle issues. I’m sitting in the discount tire shop in Casper getting 4 new tires put on my truck. Hit something in the road 15 miles from my unit and ruined the tire. Of course I’m at like 40% tread on them and adding a new tire means I have to get at least one other so they match and they talked me into going ahead and getting all of them replaced.



Still hoping to get back to the unit to get some scouting in this evening but it is going to be close.

Good luck on your hunt. One of the Prerequisites that make a hunt an adventure is #1 tire issues, #2 getting a vehicle stuck or # 3 getting lost. I think you chose the best of the three..

Would have had to unhitch the trailer. They said it was no big deal and they could just do it there in the parking lot. Took them about 30 minutes. Most painful part was my wallet.

Was at that same discount tire 2 September's ago the day before opener while my buddy got 4 new tires. Actually spent most of the time at the Pizza Ranch.

Could always be worse you know? We had a whole tire come off and roll by us on the interstate.

Got to the unit and met my buddy and got a couple hours of scouting in. Saw about 15 or 20 bucks, nothing I want to go after in the morning.

Got camp setup without any other issues right before dark.

Pretty sunset though.


Eating supper and trying to make plans for the morning. Probably going to check out different areas than we scouted. It’s a big unit so plenty of ground to cover. Going to try to be picky starting out.

Looked over about 20 bucks so far in some different country than I’ve been in here. 3 or 4 decent ones but nothing special. One was probably 16” tall but very spindly.

I resisted. Had him at 210 yards but he just isn’t the one.

Getting close to 40 bucks for the day. Lots of very small bucks which is promising for the future.
