Wow.....I drew the OIL North Dakota Elk Tag.

Way to go on your bull. He is a Beauty! I'm headed South of there along the Cannonball River for pheasants next month. I do like the looks of that country you are in for sure. I might look in to a deer tag one of these days...

Great job, @NDGuy
You did a great job sharing the play by play. Thanks for sharing it all. Family and I just went to TRNP in mid July, so i felt as if I was there with you.
Congrats!!
It's beautiful country, some of the best!

Good stuff ND. mtmuley
I remember you giving me shit over using Bergers early in the year.

I'd like to think that he was just a tough SOB but maybe I shoulda have used Accubonds over Berger's... :D

Glad it worked out. I don't trust Bergers. Just personal preference. That's a great bull. mtmuley

I didn't investigate but I wish I would have opened him up to see if they did their job well and I just put him down sooner. I just couldn't risk him getting into the park so kept pulling the trigger.

I’m an inexperienced elk hunter. There are lots of rules but #1 for me is- if the elk is still standing, keep shooting.

Yep, Randy's voice was in my head when I was doing such haha

I’m overwhelmed with joy and sadness that it’s over already but no way I’d ever pass up this bull. He’s exactly like I dreamed of shooting, couldn’t be happier. Being in the middle of big screaming bulls was an unforgettable experience in itself. Knowing anyone in any state would be ecstatic to shoot a bull like this was the cherry on top of this adventure. I’m honored and proud of the opportunity to take my first ever elk in my home state that thousands of others never get to experience. I’m glad I was able to make the most of my opportunity. Truly the trip of a lifetime that I’ll never forget!

Thanks for tuning into the crazy ride!

PS My wild facial hair is a good luck thing my buddies and I do, maybe it does work?
