What are you guys paying for gas?

That's what Venezuela did. I'll pass.

It's what every other major producer of oil has done. The OPEC nations are all nationalized, Iran, Russia, etc.

All nationalized. All have much lower gasoline prices than the US. Why do you hate low gas prices and love giving billions in socialism to corporations that only screw the consumer?

I guess if Sleepy Joe gets the credit, I owe him a big thank you.

As a retired oil refinery worker, my holdings in company stock have risen sharply. Nearly forty years ago when first going to work for them, I told my wife, we would not complain about the price of gasoline. So, we don't.

No one is forced to buy a rig that gets poor milage, myself included. It is a choice. There should be no sense of entitlement that the price of oil products will never rise.
When I worked in the oilfield I was grateful for $120BBl oil. All my friends would cry about paying $4.00+ a gallon and I was over here like, "drill baby drill!"

Never work Ben. That would kick off the U.S. domestic oil embargo.

Maxine's way ahead of you Ben....

I am glad I don't live in any of those nations you mention Ben. You can move there if want cheap gas though.

Not defending Venezuela, but they did not retain all of their oil for domestic consumption. They did muck things up all around, that I agree with.

I would not hold up Iran and Russia as preferable options...maybe try Norway.

No one is getting "screwed" it is the market working. The price is responding to a tighter supply and strong demand.

They nationalized their oil industry and provided their citizens with below cost gas. Didn't work out well did it?

US, Canada, and the UK are not nationalized.

Norway is...

I'm not being serious. The US subsidizes the oil and gas industry heavily, and we enjoy low cost gasoline compared to the majority of other nations. You're 100% right on the supply chain issue and increased demand. Add in the cyber attack on the pipeline on the east coast and you increase volitility in the market & reduce supply while demand increases.

Damned glad I have 73 plastic sacks full of 91 I bought a while ago, during the last panic. :)

Not sure if this confirms or refutes my hypothesis that Big Oil wants us to elect Republicans, and engages in pump price psychology toward that end.
