Truck stolen, feelin down

If they would make a mid to late 90's or early 2000's again. I'd buy one, tomorrow. I've been looking oretty hard lately and I can't even get excited about a new truck. All they really have to offer is a bunch of tech bs imo. Im thinking about buying a w/t model and just changing the wheels and the grill for looks. Salesman warned me I won't get the heated steering wheel or the tailgate with a button🙄. I know, thats the point.
I love my current truck and its lack of tech, it will be a sad day when I have to replace it, and I’ll probably buy a stripped down work 3/4 ton and just run it, steel wheels and all.

I haven't looked, but can a truck with no frills and just things a truck should have be available? From any manufacturer? mtmuley

No cameras on every corner. No warnings of things getting close. No computer screen on the dash. No heated anything except the heater. No stupid fob. I could go on. mtmuley
Yup. It can be done. Be prepared for some strange looks. They couldn't believe i dont want the big screen in the dash. I want a truck. Not a phuggin space shuttle.

Fwiw for seems a lot easier to find one that is basic yet still looks decent. Think chrome bumpers and wheels etc. At least in my searches.

I’d like to meet someone who uses the tailgate drop button regularly. I’ve had that on my last three trucks and only have used it once to twice to make fun of it. Seriously, when is that useful?

My friends dad bought a new ford ( was a couple years ago) but had to have it special ordered to make manual locks, manual windows, and the other stuff not installed. Believe it cost him more to have it like that since it "messed up" the assembly line.

The rebates aren't as good on the plane Jane's either so you dont end up saving a whole lot, im finding out.

My RAM 2500 is a Tradesman and I think it strikes a pretty perfect balance of features and simplicity. The ~7inch stereo screen with Apple Carplay is pretty nice to have OnX on the dash when you have to make a quick determination whether you can jump out and run to the borrow ditch and sling some lead at that doe 50 yards off the road. :devilish: Vinyl seats and floors. Not a big fan of the stereo knob-shifter but I've come to terms with it. I do think the gasser 3/4 tons depreciate a lot quicker than the 1/2 tons, you might be able to find a decent deal on a low mileage 3/4 ton from someone that decided they needed a diesel to blow smoke and tow the lawn mower.

I love my current space shuttle. The heated steering wheel is a dream after coming off a frigid sit. I love flashy shiz. People either compliment me on the wheels or say no offense. OH, I take offense mister!!! Lol

No offense, but the trailer wheels should be red...;)

Then don't!

I think we have basically the same truck, and I've committed to driving something else, basically everywhere that doesn't absolutely require the truck. I'm down to about 3.5k miles per year, currently at 186k. That should effectively last me the rest of my life if I assume 300k.

I should clarify, I plan to drive mine until the wheels fall off.

Aside from my current Jeep Wrangler, it's been a minute since I've owned a vehicle without a sunroof & it's rare, very rare for us to ever open one.

only 120k
You could buy an OTC archery deer tag fly into Wenatch-a-snatch, experience a rather shitty public land mule deer rut hunt, and drive back!

My dad has that same truck but its a '91. I think he's sitting at 290k miles on it right now and he's basically done nothing but change the oil in it
