Truck stolen, feelin down

Police found it! Unfortunately have to wait til tomorrow to pick it up (if it’s not totaled) because the tow lot is closed on Sundays
Hope it doesn't cost you too much, mine was like $700+, once for towing to police station, once for towing station to storage lot, and an overnight storage fee cause they were already closed by the time they called. Between the tow company fees and the police dept. keeping my pistol, they're as bad as the thief.
Glad that they found it. Sometimes they won’t even try
I don't think they try at all other than recording it in tag readers or unless it gets pulled over. I remember thinking when I got my truck back in high school, why they didn't fingerprint it or something.

This might be a dumb question. Does vehicle insurance help with any of the costs?

As if it was somehow your fault/actions that were the reason it was towed. I would hope you could recoup the tow costs through restitution or a lawsuit on the thief

I'm not sure what you mean by "take"? I used to be a very physical person. I had to calm down by popular demand. Having my truck stolen would probably have sent me into a rage. I'm glad I have outgrown that phase of my life.
I wouldn't get physical, but agree would personally be angrier than depressed.

When you get it back you should go over it thoroughly especially if you have littles in your truck.

We had a car stolen and recovered. Thought that we got lucky as nothing was really destroyed. Had to fumigate and use a ozone machine on the interior because they stunk it up but it was otherwise okay. Months later, we were detailing it to sell, and found a hypodermic needle stuffed between the seats.

Yeah, I don't know if I'd even want it back. People are dirtbags and who knows what they did with it while they had it. It's not like they stole your vehicle to drive to work.

I think that they were just high and used it to joy ride while getting high. Cops found it a week later abandoned. It was a company car and we put the new guy in it until we could put a couple thousand miles on it to sell at auction - I hear it builds character :). We were shocked to find the needle as we thought we looked the car over - FNG was freaked out that we would think it was his (not knowing the history of the car).

I would say that if it was a personal vehicle, that I would have just gotten rid of it immediately. The foul smell alone brought up visions of nastiness dancing around my imagination. That's stuff you can't quit thinking about.

My oldest daughter’s car was stolen when she was a senior in high school. We found a foil packet of meth behind the cigarette lighter.

I flat out don’t want to believe this. So I’m going with the old man is forgetting there’s 4 legged thieves of all kinds everywhere.
He was pretty sharp for his age. I saw the kill sight and was all over the area around it. The quarters were already bagged. Idk if a four legged critter would have carried both quarters off that far in game bags. Worst part was he explained his favorite part of the hunt was the packout and seeing it on his plate. That was pretty much his exact qoute.

Yep, long day.

Picked it up around noon. It was smoked in (cigarettes), the dude removed all top light bulbs, removed the fuses for the headlights, disabled cruise control and my bluetooth, stole my $400 baseball mitt from my college days, stole tools, and got rid of my kids’ carseats. All in all, F him. I will be having it detailed and steam cleaned soon so it can stop smelling like cigarettes and incest.

No mechanical damage, no hypodermic needles, just was done dirty.

Oh also, he stole my fishing line, transmission warranty paper, and removed my plates. Gotta go to the DMV in the morning
