Glad it was recovered. Hopefully it wasn't driven like it was stolen. I'd have it thoroughly diagnosed before insurance settles.

Had a high school friend who started hanging with another kid who steered him down the wrong path. They would steal cars on a Friday night, joy ride around and ditch it. Then they broke in to a motorcycle dealership and stole some dirt bikes. Ended up in Juvie. Kept telling me what a rush it was and that I should come along.
Yeah, right.
My friend ended up hanging drywall for a living. Sounds about right.

Even if the wheels do fall off, the parts are still cheap enough to get them back on. Haha.
To the OP, sucks about the truck.
Amazing stuff gets stolen in a driveway.
Most of the time I find the keys are in my stuff. I'll spend half an hour looking for the keys, then go out and look, boom, there they are.

I’ve left my keys in my truck danglin from the ignition for as long as I have known how to drive…
First 2 months in Billings and my truck gets rummaged through. Took my absolute warmest sweater which was also part of my camo kryptek set. And opened my ash tray. Never touched the keys. P***y. Now I lock it every night

I have a tendency to always lock things as my trade is locksmithing. Out west elk hunting, the rancher was pretty pissed there were no keys in my truck parked on a FS trail I hadn't seen anyone on in three weeks. There was no place to park along the trail. Turns out he said he had to walk an additional 4 miles to open the gate and retrieve his cattle. Sorry to hear of your situation. Hope it ends well. The bad people are a small percentage but they sure occupy a bigger space in our minds.
Once they get said hind quarter to a road of course.
