Today was one of the hardest days of my 55 years. We had to let out Daisy girl go and be free of pain. She was our 16 yo golden. She had been with us since we got to CO. I can't go into too much, but I will say she literally saved my life at a point after my last deployment..... she looked into my soul and let me know I had to stay. I knew this was coming but selfishly wanted her to stay. She never complained, never cried and until yesterday ate lived herself. Luckily our doc makes house calls so we were all with her, on her deck with her sweet nose in the breeze to the end. The instant doc gave her meds she eased off. I love you forever Daisy girl.
