If you’re available and/or in the area, Wyoming could use some hunter voices at the September commission meeting in Lander to support the Sublette corridor designation. The proposed corridor is facing significant opposition from 2 sectors of industry. Historically (before winter of 2023), this has been the largest pronghorn herd in the nation, with more data collected on it than any other pronghorn herd on the continent.

Commission Meeting agenda. Sublette topic is the morning of September 10th.

Isn't the Red Desert Segment where there is a huge amount of sheep fence that pronghorn couldnt cross a couple years ago?

Absolutely amazing, but not surprising, I suppose.

Yes. Lots of sheep fencing was taken down, but there's still a lot left with some ranches completely unaccessible for pronghorns to feed on.

The map shows colared pronghorn movement with clear fence lines that cannot be crossed. Some of those fences have been remediated since, but not all.

The red box is around the East of Farson and Red Desert areas that are being proposed to be left off the designation. There is some additional GPS data (recently added) in those areas that this map does not show.

If anyone has reviewed the Commission Notebook, you may have seen that NAPF was lucky enough to get some floor time in front of the commission to give a presentation introducing NAPF to the Wyoming Game and Fish commission.

Our presentation is available to view at the link.

Brock, will NAPF be able to argue to keep (reinsert) the East of Farson and Red Desert areas at the Sept 10 meeting?

Glad to see the Commission go against the Department on this. Surprised really. They do get some things correct.
