Congratulations.

I’m 10-15 years behind you, if I survive that long.

[JShane]

Congrats. Enjoying doing what you want to do and no longer what you have to do.

[JLDemo]

Congrats on the new chapter.

What's next? Snowbird? Stay put?

[MLC]

Congrats! I retired the first time 16 years ago and the second time seven years ago. We’ve been fortunate in that we both have nice pensions and for the most part have done the things we’ve wanted to do, but I would caution the youngsters among you thinking about and planning for retirement, three things that have had a far greater impact than we expected are taxes (i.e. property taxes), insurance (home and auto) and the substantial and unforeseen increase in the cost of almost everything except maybe TVs. Our home owners insurance has tripled, without a claim. Car & pickup insurance similar. Property taxes increase every year. Young people eventually find out, that you never really own your home. You just rent it from the government.
In summary, if you are planning to retire soon, be careful not to underestimate the forthcoming cost increases of almost everything!

[MNHunter]

Congrats on retirement Buzz!

[geetar]

Congrats on your retirement. Thanks for all you did for the FS.

[brownbear932008]

Congrats, and I really hope you settle nicely into the retirement gig!

[MNElkNut]

Congrats. I am always happy to hear of retirements. Curious how you decided that now was the time? Why not last month or next month or next year?

[Dave N]

everyone I talk to says it doesn't suck.

That's my line! I tell everyone whenever they ask. Congrats on being able to step away from a successful career. You will probably miss some of the people more than the job. Now you can do whatever, whenever, wherever. Sometimes it will be busy and other times you may feel bored. That's the beauty of it. It's all up to you. Enjoy every minute of it!
