How much do you get a Night ? As the 1:30AM hits I'm thinking it will be awesome when the 7AM alarm goes off. I might snooze it till 7:55 though, I don't need to be in till 8AM

I'm sure I need about 9 hours a night but usually average 7. What do you guys need, get, or want to get a night. (Yes, "get" means sleep you perverts !!!).

6 hours is a good night sleep for me. I live on 3-4 hours tho, maybe thats why I get cranky sometimes. My wife says I don't get enough sleep, thats why I am irratable. I told her its hereditary, I get it from being married.

I normally get about 6 hours but there are good days where I might take a 7 hour snooze. If I get more than about 7 hours of sleep a night, I wake up groggy and feel tired the entire day.

I generally turn in around between 10 and 11 and am asleep the second my head touches the pillow. 4:30am is up and off to work time so put me in with the 6 hour crowd.

If I don't set an alarm I'll wake up at 8 to 8 1/2 hours sleep, doesn't matter when I went to bed. I usually get 6-7 hours, which is fine at this time of the year. When I'm working long hours in the field in the summer, I get pretty worn down on 5-6 hours of sleep every day.

In bed by 11, sleep by 12, alarm goes at 6. We still have a 7 week old making sure we know he is still around sometime about 4. So anywhere from 5 to 5.5 hours until the weekend comes.

I'm with the steady 6 hour crowd. Now this doesn't mean that I get a steady 6 hrs sleep. I wish. I try to be in bed by 9pm, but usually the lil lady has the tv on till about 10 or 11. I'll wake up at least once to relieve myself and of course my paranoid internal alarm clock wakes me up at 2:30am and I'm thinking... cool! I have two hours to sleep till the alarm goes off! 3:00... cool I have an hour and a 1/2! Then it's 4:10, 4:18, 4:29......


Damn, I need to try some Ambien or something!

5-6 hrs for me.. I like to have a bit of quiet time after the kids and wife go to sleep. Hit the sack around midnight then up at 5:30-6:00 like clock work.

Call me a wuss, but if I don't get at least 7 hours I cannot function and it probably isn't even safe for me to be driving. I've tried exercising in the mornings, eat good breakfasts, etc. but nothing I do can make my eyes stay open unless I get good quality shuteye. I am generally a VERY mellow guy, but if you disturb me when I am in those first stages of sleep, I will likely blow a gasket for some reason.

I also struggle very hard with sleeping away from home. When I travel for work I am almost embarassed at my attentiveness by the third day of a conference (and that's without staying out, drinking and being social).

6-7 hours for me. Unfortunately our 18 month old wakes up every night at 2:00 AM and ends up in the middle of the wife and I. That kid has the "jimmy body". I wake up with little toes in my mouth, or pee bum right by my nose, etc. Doesn't make for a good night sleep.
