Reduction in number of NR deer licenses

Oklahoma collects

Date of kill
Time of kill
Weapon used
Sex
Adult or juvenile
If male how many points per side
County
Public or private
If Public which specific piece

-type of weapon used
-sex
-if antlerless they ask to specify adult or
yearling
-County where harvested
-number of points over 1"
-circumference at the base of the antler
- length from the corner of the nose to the
nostril
-usually also report if you've seen x animals while out hunting (such as animals they are monitoring. Here its Bobcats and turkeys)

That's all done either online or over the phone whatever your preference. Takes less than a minute to complete.
They also ask public or private. Pretty sure they do, it's been a few years since I had to do one

Even if the last part somehow made it. That would be the most lied about one out there.
Are you referring to the unrecovered animal part? I don’t think people would claim they lost an animal if they hadn’t. I’m also not sure why people would be afraid to admit they lost an animal in an anonymous survey, but even if that was the case, I think less than perfect data is better than no data at all.

And in limited entry units on a general tag. Would be really easy to get away with…

I’m sure no spike hunters archery hunting 380 and calling in bulls would ever dream of sticking one…
After one season with the north end 380 cow tag, I avoid the Elkhorns at all cost. But I spent a bunch of time there that fall and live like 2 miles from the National Forest boundary, and I've never seen a game warden there. Seems like you have to poach 10+ animals and at least a few off private to start to raise any red flags, based on the most recent bust of the 4 guys from Helena/Bozeman.

Actually a good friend is a higher up at the Golden Sunlight mine, he received a call from FWP that they busted a guy who poached THREE bulls in 380.

I recall this incident a few years ago, an influencer killed a bull in 680 “without knowing” he was in the wrong district. I bet it happens all the time, it would be easier to get away with than trespassing.

What are your check station hours? Ours close before it’s dark in some places
To be honest, i'm not sure a couple hours after dark anyway. If not, you can check it in the next morning i think. They are not like your guys's check station on major highways. It's a designated spot, 1 for each county pretty much. You'll get a check station tag for your deer.So if you don't have that anywhere caught without it, it would be the same as not tagging your deer I guess.

Game wardens are kicking about.

There is a bma I've hunted on and off for many years. Its small. They had it set up where there was a cutoff for # of hunters per day. Its a tough hunt for whitetails, since the bird hunters pound it. Typically I would sign in two hours before shooting light so I could get a spot back in, buried in the brush.
Some sniveling $itch called the warden to say i was signing in the night before, for the following day. They took they/them's word for it and gave me a ration. Kinda soured me. Eventually they canned that arrangement and fully opened the ground.
Bet I have shot more bucks out of there than most with BP. Most numbnuts show up at first light and walk around hoping to jump something.
Wardens were keeping an eye on the easy stuff down low, probably to appease private landowners.
Understaffed for that LE IMO. Like most places.

24 years of hunting and I’ve never been through a check station. Nearest one to me is over an hour away
If I remember correctly I’ve only been through check stations with a big game animal twice, both times coming out on Sunday with bulls I shot opening day. For the rest of the season, unless you’re coming through before dark on Saturdays you’ll never see a check station.
