Thanks everybody. They are all great suggestions. I like Buster and Tucker but I will run all the names by the kids for suggestions. My wife suggested Ruger and my oldest daughter likes Rowdy.

Bird dogs seem to give themselves a name.

Dad's original was Buck, his son was SOB (Son of Buck) but we called him Sobby (Sabe?), He had Rocky who had a rock shaped spot on his side, and Rowdy who was a psycotic spaz.

Later they got Loco who was found on the railroad tracks when he wandered off, and Jake who was the owner of the female.

The next dog was Packer after Alfred E. of Colorado, and now the only remaining pointer is Gator for his big mouth.

My first border collie was Sophie because she was born on my Grandfather Soph's birthday. (that name is a story in itsself)
