Corner jumping is frowned upon and people have been cited for trespass when doing it. In some cases, those who've fought it, have won.
Let's say you have a piece of public land (a 640 acre section) surrounded on 4 sides by private and well posted land. You find the survey marker on one of the corners which joins to a piece of public land. You can basically jump through the air and onto the diagnonal corner into the surrounded, and allegedly inaccessable public land.
Would you do this? Are you afraid of getting busted? Would you fight it in court? If you are a private landowner would you prosecute somebody for trespass, even if they could take you to the survey marker via their GPS and show you right where they crossed?
