It's been a crazy month of Nov. here in Ohio, I've had lots of close encounters with some really nice bucks but couldn't seem to get it to all come together, well.....until this evening. About 5:15pm I was just about to take a doe to fill the freezer when I caught movement, this guy was trailing the 4 doe I had in front of me at 30yds, they scattered a bit, with a 32yd double lung shot and 40yd pile up it was all over very quickly. And at 3:30pm I was trying to talk myself out of going to the stand, cold & windy.....and needed a break from it I thought. Just goes to show.....you gotta be out there to make it happen, you never know when one will show up.

Congrats Dave! You are having a stellar year. Your taxidermy bill is going to be significant.:)

Nice golf course buck! (Looks as if he fell in the first cut of rough).

Your fletching looks rather long and skinny?

He actually dropped about a yard from a mowed atv path that parallels a large timber lot, I shot him in the tall grass set aside field that also borders the timber.

The vanes you asked about are AAE elite plastifetch 3-7/8" length and they are a smudge shorter in profile. I have tried about every vane out there, these are quiet, and fly best for me, great stability if you shoot fixed broadhead as I do. And when you go to 3D shoots and beat guys with their 2" blazers it really pisses them off.......always enjoyable!

Just waiting for Monday.....1st time back in Ohio in 42 yrs. Shot my first deer ever at Salt Fork, guess I'll head back there.
