Yes, a few. I think a little better than last year. Now that I've filled my elk tag I'll do some bird hunting. Yesterday someone was doing quite a bit of shooting above us and that usually puts some roosters down on us. I planted a small patch of barley this year that should keep some around. They get pretty wily after they've been hunted here. There's more corn in the valley this year also and I'm seeing more birds while driving to town.

I made a quick stop near Huntington on my way to Boise last week. Put the girls down for two hours and ended up with a couple of chukar. I still havn’t made a full day trip yet. Some how too busy being retired, even though it’s just over an hour or so to Farewell bend. Maybe later this week I’ll head towards Richland, gotta get my elk butchered up first.
