Do most or all of those kids love the sport they are competing in?
Maybe most, certainly not all, many recognize it as a chance at college or maybe beyond. Point is, they're dedicated and focused and have work ethic.....ironically many video games lead to a similar work ethic which often leads to coding, STEM, etc.

Point is, just because a child doesn't perform the same duties we did at that age, doesn't mean they don't have work ethic.

Many on here worked on a farm as a young person. Myself included. Started in 6th grade and stopped in 10th when I got a construction job.

The current population of 6th-10th graders prefer Xbox and have no work ethic.

Farmers can't find enough cheap labor.
There were a lot of 8 to 10 kid farm families when I went to school. That's how they found "cheap" labor back in the day.😁

They're not deporting "immigrants". They're deporting illegal aliens.
And, a few citizens thought apparently the U.S. Constitution is only applicable part of the time and not in Blue states. So odd that two citizens shot dead with lots of bullets in MN but not a wave of masked agents storming through Red TX where are MORE illegals than MN + ME. Shucks, is almost like an addled brain is being vindictive. Thank goodness he only prefers his bourbon aged less than 16 years or I would be really upset.

Not accurate according to chat.

As of late 2025 and early 2026, Texas ranks #1 in the nation for both U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests and the number of people held in detention facilities. Following a surge in enforcement during the second Trump administration, Texas accounted for nearly 1 in 4 (roughly 25%) of all nationwide ICE arrests.
Texas ICE Detention and Arrest Numbers (Late 2025 - Early 2026)
Total Arrests: Over 26,000 arrests were reported in Texas in the first five months of the renewed Trump administration (early 2025).
Daily Average: Daily ICE arrests in Texas increased from roughly 85 per day (end of Biden administration) to 176 per day (first six months of Trump's second term).
Detention Capacity: Texas houses the highest number of detainees, with facilities like the ERO El Paso Camp East Montana averaging 2,774 people per day as of November 2025.
Detainer Requests: Harris County Jail in Texas leads the nation in ICE detainer requests (requests to hold a person for deportation).
Context on Rankings and Trends
Rank: Texas is consistently ranked #1 in ICE arrests, followed by Florida and California.
Rise in Numbers: ICE arrests in Texas reached approximately 7,400 in June 2025, which is triple the number reported in June 2024.
Demographics: Despite directives to target high-priority individuals, data indicates that the number of people arrested without prior criminal convictions increased in Texas, comprising 59% of arrests under the new, more aggressive enforcement approach.
The surge in Texas is largely attributed to increased cooperation between state, local, and federal law enforcement, with over 100 counties in Texas having agreements to assist with ICE duties.

I pay, they don't. They get, I don't. That's a bit oversimplified but the point remains that illegals, not immigrants, get something for nothing while the rest of the country pays for it. What is so hard to accept?
You gonna address the fact that they also take jobs that no Americans want, at a wage no American would take? I didn't think so. A lot of state economies would collapse without them, and a whole lot of billionaires would be a little less wealthy without their cheap labor, not to mention thousands of local businesses.

I've worked alongside immigrants. Don't know what their status was and don't care. All I know is they worked their ass*s off and this white boy couldn't keep up. Made me damn glad I could get a college education.

And don't you worry, even you will lean into that social safety net eventually. And you'll be awful glad it's there.

We are not just deporting illegals and its not a surprise. An agent can get a bonus for big numbers
The reason we should not have deportation quantity bonuses for agents is in the history books.

The US government used to pay for Indian scalps. At times it was hard to kill Indians so the scalpers would also invite people with long dark hair to come along. The long dark haired people would often not make the journey.
We stopped paying for scalps not because it was wrong but in large part we stoped because we were scalping the wrong people.
Are you really going to compare that to what's happening now?

And, a few citizens thought apparently the U.S. Constitution is only applicable part of the time and not in Blue states. I don't interject myself when law enforcement is conducting an operation. I also don't reach for a gun or hit an agent with my car. I've survived this long, I think I'll be fine.

So what are you doing about the problems you're complaining about? Show your "work".
Don't sit on here and bloviate about ME fixing the problem. Don't you work for the Feds? You're closer to it than I am. Why don't you do something? That's a stupid thing to ask. If you want Illegals, then Invite them into your home, cook them dinner every night, let them sleep in your bed. You think they provide so much to this economy. What have you done to help fix the homeless, drug problems and veterans?

I jumped in a rabbit hole trying to make sense of why the ICE hate. Please do not make this political finger pointing. I genuinely cant make sense of it. Here is what I found
  • 100's of websites set up to track and harass ICE
  • Very little if any opportunities to support law enforcement without being a target yourself
  • All news reporting is biased
  • Obama deported more then Trump
  • There is a portion of illegal immigrants that have deportation orders
  • There is a portion of illegal immigrants that have committed crimes outside of being illegally here
  • There is a portion of illegal immigrants who do vote and a portion who do obtain benefits only available to citizens. Also resources are or were used to bring them here and take care of them with tax payer money
    • 1 side will say that some of the above is not possible
    • 1 side will say it absolutely is happening
    • There is a portion of anti-ice folks who lack common decency and are "victims" when held accountable
  • There is a portion of ICE and LEO who are done with nonsense and react accordingly

So my initial take.
  • Folks are here illegally and should not be. They should be deported. They made the decision to come. Being allowed to break the law for 5,10 or 20 years doesn't grant you anything.
  • The anti-ice folks are the loudest so some think that everyone agrees with them
  • The everyday American has mixed feelings or supports ICE
    • I 100% agree with removal
    • I feel bad for the families who are established here. However they are here illegally. If they have been here a while they made no steps to become legal
    • Wages have 100% been affected by illegal immigrants here. I have experienced this personally and in my opinion is why a lot of the trades are hurting for labor. Americans wont do the trades job for the same amount your grocery store pays. Wages are suppressed by 25 years of illegal immigrants doing the work. So yes Americans wont do it but they would start if the rates was worth it. I know drywall. In my area I hire company A (Legal) They charge me $75 an hour. They hire company B (legal) who charges A $30-$40 an hour. They hire company C (illegal) who charges B $25-$35 an hour. By the time it gets to the guy doing the work its at $15-$25. And often there is then a Company D. Now imagine if company A or B had the workforce. They could pay $30-$40 fairly easy and someone could live off that somewhat. Which they do not because they cant find men willing to do the work as 25 years ago they got run out.
So what is the opposition to ICE about? I used to flash my lights at a cop ahead. I was told to knock it off. You don't know who you are saving from getting pulled over and what else they might be up to. (Still did it) Here we have people giving criminals a heads up the LE is headed there way. And it’s not for speeding. Why is that

Because the thought of American civilians getting killed and abducted in their own driveway by anonymous Federal gunslingers is enraging.

Uh maybe because ICE are Federal gunmen that look and operate like neo nazis while occupying US cities where they are grossly unwelcome. What happened to state’s rights? Seems like what Hitler did in the 1930’s!
Because ICE seems to be currently the main apparatus for dividing and antagonizing US citizens.
Because it is disgusting to tear families apart by abducting and deporting fathers, mothers and children.
Because it was sickening to watch a mother of 3 get shot in the face for putting her Honda Pilot in gear. I bet the professional federal killer who shot her told her to move her car (so he could kill her without consequence)- his feet moved as fast as a bullfighter from the car already turned away from him and his gunslinging skills were second to none. Pissed off professional killer. He was never in danger-he was insulted and had decided 15-20 minutes prior that he was going to teach that woman a forever lesson. Every move on his part looked calculated, premeditated. Cold blooded murder but you can’t touch anonymous Federal nazis. Then watching the ICU Nurse (a real public servant) getting his ass beat while being held face down (when he should have been getting cuffed) and then shot in the back by pack of incompetent thugs with immunity while he was clearly dazed, defenseless, still face down on the ground. Then trump and his administration having the audacity (or stupidity) to lie to the whole country, telling us these US citizens with no criminal background were dangerous terrorists intent on massacre with their Honda pilot and holstered 9mm…as if the whole country had not already watched the videos and been able to clearly make up their own mind about what happened. The videos speak for themselves. Hypocrisy how so many conservatives turn a blind eye towards state’s rights, the constitution and Big Brother when its their LIARS who are in charge.

Pretti didn't reach for a gun. Good didn't hit an agent with a car, she was shot in the face from the driver side window after the agent put himself infront of the car and meneuvered out of the way. You cant shoot someone if they are leaving.
