Thank you, that is helpful. While there is some overlap in hunting issues from CO to NY, we do not have mountain lions or wolves, so the conversation is different here, and I'm catching up on it. In NY, deer are overrun, about ~1 million any given year, with hunters taking ~250,000...it's well established that hunting is a management tool at least for that species. I've waded into the research a bit on hunting predators as a management tool and am finding mixed results, especially for the mountain lions. Basically, hunting the older males destabilizes populations, leading to more urban conflict. Do you have good sources on this for me to look into?
