You think any major oil drilling will be coming to montana soon?I know alot of you aren't in favor of it.just want to know if you think this is something that will happen soon. When I was deer hunting in eastern Mt. it seemed like all the motels were filled with oil workers.

I'm sure the drilling will be here soon enough. Motels are full, now. Housing is very expensive, now. I know the oil companies are busing workers from as far away as Miles City to ND to work. Lots of "man camps" in MT. Northeast Montana is booming. We are getting all the overflow from ND.

It is just a matter of time when more drilling starts here in MT.

Try from as far away as Bozeman. I just read in the paper yesterday they are running busses from Bozeman straight to the fields.

It's coming and I'm not happy. We can look forward to more kidnapping murdering scumbags flooding into the area. That's what happpens when man camps of guys with 8th grade educations and big bags full of meth show up.

Gut shoot 'em at the border.

Looks as if Sumatra,MT is gonna be a hot spot for oil in the state for now, I know I have done some survey work up on them oil wells and it from what I gather its just gonna start booming.

C'mon, Montana has to have some culture now :D

There's a poster up in the Old Post in Missoula advertising a bus that runs from Missoula to the Bakken Field. The "Occupy Missoula" people must not have seen it...

I work over there a lot. All over western and central ND but am lucky enough not to have to stay in man camps and such. All I can say is that if we ever have anything thats comparable to Williston in a town in Montana I don't want to live anywhere near it. Williston is absolutely crazy and some of the people that are brought in to fill positions are scum. It is pretty nuts anywhere close that area as I am sure some of you who live in eastern MT already know.

Also I've heard the Bakken field strechtes into MT quite a bit and expansion is planned, but nobody has a timeline or anything on it.

It's coming, and I'm glad I'm on the exact opposite side of the state.

If it gets too crowded over here, I might have to move to western MT and have you guys show me how to kill a wolf:D

Are we talking about the oil lines still.....or.....is there talk about the damn rail road bringing people from the east to Montana? I say NO to the rail road, we don't need progress hahahaha.

Some of these posts sound like we are stuck in the early 1800s

There is currently fracking going on up by Sumatra and Ingomar in old oil wells, and there is the new coal mine going in down by Ashland, Broadus, and Sheridan. They are running approx. 15 trucks 24/7 from Forsyth to Sumatra. In time it is coming this way. They just built a new hotel in Miles City, and heard it is booked up by a company for the next 10 years, and there is plans for another one to be built in the near future.

Buying some land is what I was thinking.I'm getting old and could use some quick cash. Now I'm thinking about learning how to cook up some meth and double my take.God, I love America!!

We're talking about expansion of the work in the Bakken fields into MT. Not the kind of "progress" we need.

If this was still the 1800's it might be a little easier to swallow. We could just go 3-7-77 on guys like this. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57381843-504083/prosecutors-say-mont-teacher-sherry-arnold-was-victim-of-crack-fueled-abduction/

If anyone here doesn't know what 3-7-77 means I'm guessing you just arrived off one of those trains coming from back east. Good luck pilgrim.

Great, now in addition to bumping into grizzlies and hill billies on my trip, i might wake up and find 3-7-77 scribed on my tent!
Cheers
Richard

You know not all the people that work in this field are scumbags i for one am not im very respectful stand up citizen that pays taxes and likes to hunt. I live in montana but dont work here much so maybe all this work coming i i will not have to be 2000 miles from home. Just saying you have good and bad in everything.
