Just got off the phone with a buddy from Montana...his Dad drew a good bull permit.

The last time a good bull tag was drawn by that family it wasnt a good deal for the elk...and in particular this bull:

You have a busy fall for a guy whose wife is going to deliver the next family member in a month or so.

Congrats to you and BRI's dad. I had that tag in 2004 and it was a really great hunt.

SHe will be going with me on this one with a 2 month old baby She drew, not I. Figured she needed a reason to get her body back into fine form you know. WHat better way than to chase elk around Anyone know a babysitter that wants to watch a 2 month old in our camper for a few days?? LMAO

The usual for me..... didn't draw a rifle tag, but will be headed to the hills of central MT with bow in hand again. Also picked up a doe tag and my limited draw buck tag (easy one).

Just waiting to see if I draw my 900 antelope tag now..... Hope I am at least lucky enough to draw that one.

2nd choice archery elk in eastern MT for me so I kept my points. I once again applied for and drew the wrong deer B license. Come on antelope..

I ended up drawing my second choice, in a unit that I didn't figure would be giving out any second choicers.

On my way up to the Breaks for our hunt.

Anybody else that hunts there should keep Ft. Peck lake levels in mind. The lake has come WAY up. A rock pile we were fishing 3 weeks ago that was at the edge of the water is now 12 feet under water. I forgot to get picks of the changes but will try to remember this weekend. We are planning a scouting trip up there (CMR) in a few weeks to see how many of the islands are left.
