I was a bit skeptical of how true this was - though having tried it and I still have my points - thought I would pass it along... though of course "Disclaimer: check with FWP"

Friend mentioned I could place my typical rare deer tags in for the drawing as well as a 3rd for an unlimited tag location that requires a drawing... If (as usual) I do not draw for that rare tag - I will still have my unlimited drawing granted (unlimited) without losing any Deer points I have collected...

Well, I still have all my Deer points and also success in my unluimited draw.

Was always curious if I would lose my points if placing for an unlimited... as my 3rd choice. (Hopefully no one would ever place an unlimited as a 1st or 2nd choice - haha!)
Anyhow, food for thought for those who may not have known...

Very true.

I can't find an unlimited area that has better mule deer hunting than most of the general units though.

Also, you draw that unlimited tag and you're stuck hunting muleys in that unit. No last minute run to the east side of the state to hunt that ranch you just got permission for.

It'd be a good idea if you had a honey hole in an unlimited unit, otherwise I'd rather take my chances on my general tag.

I have drawn unlimited deer permits second choice and not lost points.

The unlimited draw comment regarding 1st or 2nd choice was due to the idea if one is going to place a 3rd choice for a tag with limited drawing... it would be - pointless... Heh, not that one could not place a 2nd choice unlimited...

I don't know of any limited draw deer units that have permits left around after the first choice draw is done. It does not make sense to apply for a limited deer unit 2nd. choice that fills out with all the first choice guys. just sayin,,,,,,,,,,,,

Anyone have an ELK B slot in the points catagory? Or will this fall under the main Elk catagory?

Understand - though if not drawn, I would have a point in that catagory - Seems the Deer B drawing placed a point before the drawing was announced online... was hoping this was a good sign not having an ELK B point... (?)

I know I signed up for the bonus points for every species. Just checked my receipt and it shows I have paid to be in the bonus point program. Son has a bonus point added this year, but not me.

After drawing a limited entry elk permit last year, I had 0 points going into the draw. I still have 0 points after this draw.

I will have to call Helena tomorrow to see what happened here.

I'm sitting on a pile of points and put in for a unit with one in four/five chances and still no luck.

Odd, my elk points just went to 0.... nothing showing on tags drawn - Heh, feel this is a play by play action with HT... - Hell, between the movie and HT - and a cold PBR... This occupies time

Fin, I didn't get my bonus points but for real. None for the deer permit, or elk tags. I know I put the right amount of money, and checked the boxes. :W:

I didnt buy them, or the point for the Combo. The way I figure if I have not drawn the combo for 2 years why in the hell would i but a point for the limited tag either
