I did not join this site for the deals and drawings, but there is a link to become a member and in that link it talks about special deals and quarterly drawings....Can I assume this really does not happen as I have never seen one?

Seriously though, drawings are upcoming. Patience my friend.

As far as deals and specials, those are dependent upon what sponsors are willing to do. In the last year, we had two of those - a 15% discount at Montana Decoy and up to a 13% discount for Denver Tent, both of which have now expired.
