I vaguely recall a seal flipper pie recipe in one of Michael Hunter's cookbooks. Unfortunately, seal flippers are somewhat tricky to come by in Colorado.I like the corned idea at the very least it'll make sausage!
If you don’t cook the flippers you’re just being wasteful, just like bear paws, coyotes, carp, and bloodshot deer ribs. Can’t wait for a Rinella sea lion cooking episode.I vaguely recall a seal flipper pie recipe in one of Michael Hunter's cookbooks. Pretty sure if I brought out the big iron (77 grain TMK) the hydrostatic shock would blow out the rectum on its own. Like one of those rockfish with the swim bladder exploding. Is there a seal Butt-out tool?

They do in Alaska.Easy way to make this happen is get the tribes to do it. Just spin it as it being their heritage and all that.
I’m surprised they haven’t already started doing it actually.
7mag, core lots and a k-bar.What’s the best cartridge and bullet for sea lions? I’m confident out to 900 yards with a 6.5 Creedmoor, but do I need to step up to the big gun (.223 with TMK)?
Also what’s the best knife for gutting sea lions?
