I'm thinking slow cooked in a Dutch oven with red wine and root vegetables. Probably make a decent corned brisket. Or maybe as a confit on toasted sourdough. What say you, @WildWill?

I vaguely recall a seal flipper pie recipe in one of Michael Hunter's cookbooks. Unfortunately, seal flippers are somewhat tricky to come by in Colorado.

What’s the best cartridge and bullet for sea lions? I’m confident out to 900 yards with a 6.5 Creedmoor, but do I need to step up to the big gun (.223 with TMK)?

Also what’s the best knife for gutting sea lions?

I’d like to see a trapping season. I think, with a big enough conibear, it should be very doable. I’d probably add some swivels to the cable, though.
