I think I’m done with big game hunting

Does this mean people will engage in unprotected intercourse during it and take old fashioned pregnancy tests?

(The rabbit test, or Friedman test, was an early pregnancy test that required killing and dissecting a rabbit to obtain the results.)
Uh...all you had to do is make the connection to the entertainer Bad Bunny...🤷‍♂️

It first crossed my mind 4 years ago on an archery deer hunt. I was 70 yards from a bedded buck I had been chasing for a week. I knew that if I took my time to get 30 yards closer and had the patience to wait him out I would most likely get him. The problem was, as I watched him sit there and chew his cud I suddenly had zero desire to put an arrow in him. I had already guided my wife on a successful deer and elk hunt that year, and had shot an aoudad a few days before this hunt. I had reached a point where I still loved hunting, but no longer felt a thrill from connecting on an animal. My only motivation for hunting was that I preferred wild game over beef. I have shot 2 deer and 2 elk since then and thoroughly enjoyed those hunts. However, last year I had a medical issue that had me reevaluate a lot of things. I have researched and experimented with many different diets and have concluded that virtually eliminating all red meat is what is right for me. I am planning on doing a lot more bird hunting and fishing from here on out. I never thought I would get to this point, but honestly it is kind of a relief given the ever decreasing opportunity for affordable quality big game hunting.
Sorry, but that's one of the dumbest ideas I've heard in a long time...

I’m over antlers. I could honestly care less if I ever shoot one again. I get as much joy seeing my boy or my blood thirsty 72 year old mom go out and get them. I DO however still enjoy killing elk! I don’t care about horns, and I’m just as happy killing a spike or a cow, but I absolutely love elk hunting.
How much less could you care?

Three weeks ago Monday, I sold my Hoyt Carbon bow which was my last piece of big game hunting gear. Since November, I got rid of all my stands, sticks, saddle gear, tons of camo...everything that I had invested in big game. My decision was based off of getting my first pointer last year. I fell in love with upland hunting, chased grouse for the first time in Sept., got my first woodcock in Oct., and pheasant hunted for the first time on opening gun deer season. After pheasant season closed, I started ice fishing, will still pursue turkey in the spring and then on to summer fishing and getting the dog ready to go in the fall again. I have zero regrets, haven't been this excited about my outdoor pursuits in years, and am really looking forward to what this year has to offer. Best of luck with your new outdoor pursuits.

Holy cow I have never been in the presence of a genius before! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with me. Did you read my post that you quoted or just the title of the thread? Please explain how you came to the conclusion that I am quitting hunting and becoming a vegan. Here’s part of what you quoted:

I am planning on doing a lot more bird hunting and fishing from here on out.
