HT ice fishing meetup anyone?

WYGF says the lake hasn't winter killed in over 4 years, should be a few tanks in there
One of my most memorable days there was a mid October day. Not too bad temp wise, but the normal 20-30 mph winds. I bugged out of class and went fishing for a couple of hours. I caught around a half a dozen fish before dark. Every single one was north of 20", and each one made at least one or two trips into my backing on a 5 wt fly rod.

Pretty sophisticated fly too. Olive Wooly Bugger with a bead head and black hackle.

50 v 40 mph.

Decades ago we found that August Meeboer trout weren’t nearly as good eating as brookies caught in nearby Snowy Range creeks. But for that matter, does any lake dwelling rainbow compare well to a brookie, ever?
Brookies are my favorite of the sort. I’d be very interested in catching those!
